Design Studio

What is your passion?

Our passion is to create objects/atmospheres that for us have a reason to exist, that means we do not pull ideas out of a hat or chose to make something that may be seen as something every designer should have in their collection.

What is important for you?

Making things that can say something about the time they were created or include possibilities that was not possible before.

How do you Label yourself?

We like to see ourselves as a studio that strives to create projects that are or feel new, things that haven’t been seen before. We try and distance ourselves from the trends at the time with hope that we are creating the trends of tomorrow.

Describe your work in one sentence without using the word ‘design’.

Studio for contemporary objects derived from concept, rationalized by purpose.

How do you relate to the field of well-being?

Our work is on the border between art and design, some works, we also spend a great deal of time on the atmosphere and feeling of the works. And that ‘air’ is something that we feel is quite well-being.

What is well-being for you? How does it reflect in your work?

Our Well-being is focused around the end user, and it should connect with its surroundings. A lot of our projects are inspired upon or continue to interact with nature in the sense of the non man-made surroundings. The play of natural light is a good example of that, we try and use the physics of our world to our advantage.

Well-being is Human Centered. How to reach people and connect?

Our projects are secretly layered but eye as if they are not, for our projects are honed down to their essence… but through using and spending time with the projects layers begin to appear that triggers the user and that strengthens the connection.

What do you do for the world & what is your input?

As a young studio that has only worked for three years, its pretty impossible for us to think on a world scale, we are working towards that idea and is a goal, therefor best to ask us again in a few years.

How would your work influence the future?

We cannot for see the future, but we hope that our personal handwriting and the choice of projects we have done and are currently working on can say something about this particular time in history… if it’s done right we have captured what is now leaving only room to explore what has yet to come. To ensure we are not busy with something that easily could have already been. Therefore I hope we are influencing our future selves.

How do you explain to your family what your doing?

Luckily they are all design oriented, meaning we can just say we are designers without having to elaborate further.

To whom do you feel connected and target your work?

Most of the works we have created were for ourselves, meaning we therefor target like minded people, but the reality is that the people with money are not our generation as of yet, so we target those who think young and bold, people who are not afraid to make a statement; who don’t choose the safe route!

How do others benefit most from what you do?

Seems till now we have inspired quite few people along the way. And the appreciating we get for our concept-based approach seems to get us the most recognition.

What is your way of working regarding the research you do & the strategy you have to reach your audience?

We always start with a long ended discussion to define what direction we want to do… it’s a way of feeling the water before diving into something. We talk it over and over again accompanied with sketches; we look very little to other designs and focus mainly on other mediums that are not directly associated with design for our inspiration/research.

How do you structure your life?

Its structured around a lot of hard work, and trying to keep the weekends free. There are enough variables in our life so we try and keep it as structured as it allows us to.

When talking about design what do you want to be associated with.

Having put things into the world that are or seem new, hopefully being seen as before our time then in it.

What kind of media are you working with? (Skills & programs you use)

The computer isn’t used for creating and even very little is done in 3D, but is of course an essential tool for communicating with the outside. Our skills are quite intuitive: about what looks/feels right. Our greatest skill is knowing what we like and do not like.

What type of assignment do you feel comfortable with?

We feel comfortable making free works and also for the industry. We like assignments that deal with spaces and that can solve problems.
