What is your passion?

Create something new.

What is important for you?

Not being limited on scale, material or type of project. But rather the opportunity to create something new.

How do you Label yourself?

Designer

Describe your work in one sentence without using the word ‘design’

Creating new objects/projects that have personality and of course a function.

How do you relate to the field of well-being?

Never forgetting the human element in design, and underestimating the relationships we have with objects around us and how we interact with them.

What is well-being for you? How does it reflect in your work?

I try to incorporate a human element in my work, through my work can be very minimal, i feel it is very important to have an element that the user can relate to.

Well-being is Human Centred. How to reach people and connect?

By incorporating ‘Personality’ into the objects. this allows the user to relate to the object and builds a ‘relationship’ with it.

What do you do for the world & what is your input?

I attempt to create something new. Through this i try to improve peoples lives while being conscious of manufacturing process’, costs, environmental impact and longevity / waste of an object.

How would your work influence the future?

Ultimately i would hope my works impact on the future is with longevity and sustainability.

How do you explain to your family what your doing?

My father and brother are both designers. So our talks can get pretty in-depth quickly. We also talk multiple times a week, so we are all very up to date on each others current work.

To whom do you feel connected and target your work?

I feel design needs to be accessible to all types of people. It needs to be used and understood at a basic level, as well there needs to be the attention to detail and function to appeal to a higher level (as well for your own sake )

How do others benefit most from what you do?

The projects i have worked on can be quite diverse. From small home accessories to retail spaces. I would like to think my clients benefit from a well designed and considered project that adds something new to the design world by my attempt to create something new.

What is your way of working regarding the research you do & the strategy you have to reach your audience?

The development of a project for me is a constant cycle of events. From sketches to models and prototypes, computer models, research, material samples and discussions with producers and production methods. There are so many factors that go into a product or project that it involves so many variables that affect one another. By constantly developing all of these stages of design at the same time, it results in a more considered project.

How do you structure your life?

Work at the studio 10am-6pm five days a week, Surround myself with images, models, prototypes and interesting objects. Work on emails in the morning and produce something in the afternoon. Weekends do something outside and work on side projects

When talking about design what do you want to be associated with.

Ideally never being limited or categorized by a client. Rather being able to create something new in any discipline.

What kind of media are you working with? (skills & programs you use)

I Work with many types of media and programs. This is ever changing and often I have had to learn something new to achieve the result I’m looking for. I feel a good designer should never be limited when it comes to communicating their idea.

What type of assignment do you feel comfortable with?

Im comfortable with any assignment. I feel there is always a new way of looking at a problem and there is always a interesting solution to that problem. As i mentioned before i have worked on small accessories to spaces/environments, and i feel that though they are very different they are approached in a very similar way.
