What is your passion?

Re-discover the beauty of living in mundane daily life.

Learn from (individually and culturally) different ways of living.

What is important for you?

Do what I think it’s interesting and valuable.

Work with people who I feel comfortable to work with and who share the same vision.

How do you Label yourself?

Multidisciplined (especially in terms of media) researcher and designer.

Describe your work in one sentence without using the word ‘design’.

Editing

What is well-being for you?

Be honest to myself/yourself.

Well-being is Human Centered. How to reach people and connect?

For example, always try not to miss unpleasant/uncomfortable feelings of myself in daily life and try to question things that we think usual or normal if it’s really true. In the end, try to change or improve the current situation if it’s needed.

So my way of relating myself to well-being is to be personal as a starting point, see if any other people also think same as me, if so, try to expand the topic wider and try to reach more people. Starting from a small personal thing is the method I learned in well-being department and I still believe there are many important truths in it.

What do you do for the world & what is your input?

Give new points of viewing things.

How would your work influence the future?

I actually don’t think of how my work influence the future but I just think of how I can improve the current life, probably hoping that would give a positive influence to the future.

How do you explain to your family what your doing?

Making books.

Of course it’s just a part of what I do but in fact I do like books as media and books tend to be an eventual physical form for showing my research materials.

To whom do you feel connected and target your work?

People around educational environments, e.g. students in creative study, museum etc.

How do others benefit most from what you do?

Get inspirations and new points of view.

What is your way of working regarding the research you do & the strategy you have to reach your audience?

Maybe because I currently work for one designer almost full-time and my life is stable, I haven’t found a good way to reach my specific audience yet. I think I still have to develop it especially when I start working more independently as a freelancer.

How do you structure your life?

Now I work for one designer to help realizing his ideas basically. In a few years, I would like to work more independently for more varieties of clients to realize my own ideas as well. I don’t imagine to have my own “studio” and to hire people working for me. I would rather like to establish myself as freelancer and work project-based with different people.

When talking about design what do you want to be associated with.

Visual storytelling (by photography, graphic design and illustration.)

What kind of media are you working with? (skills & programs you use)

Graphic design (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator etc.)

Digital photography (Photoshop)

Illustration (Illustrator, hand)

What type of assignment do you feel comfortable with?

–Assignment with a good balance of “what to do” and “how to do”. I wish I can be involved in both concept development (=what to do) and realization/visualization of it. (=how to do)

–Assignment with a good team of people who I feel comfortable to work with.
